S2E3 – Death, Suffering, & Pancakes (Lachlan Batley)

Faith On Campus Death, Suffering, and Pancakes, interview with Lachlan Batley

In this week’s episode of Faith On Campus I interview Lachlan Batley, a Sport & Exercise Science student at Charles Sturt University in Bathurst, NSW. He shares with us about how he’s seen at God at work on campus, with gospel opportunities coming up through conversations about death and suffering on the one hand, and through pancakes on the other.

During this interview I was reminded that sometimes opportunities to share the gospel come about spontaneously. Lachy shares about when he first came to uni, God gave him an unexpected opportunity to share the gospel. He met some guys who just happened to be talking about death and what happens after we die. They asked Lachy what he thought, so he was able to share the gospel with them. Lachy expected them to be antagonistic, but it ended up going better than he expected!

Later, Lachy shares about an idea that he and some other students had to create gospel opportunities through pancakes, of all things. I hope you’ll be as encouraged as I was to hear about they’ve been up to and how the university responded. It’s made me think that maybe we should fire up the frying pan on our campus too!
